Odissi is believed to be the oldest classical dance form, with historical evidence dating back to the 2nd century.
It uniquely combines graceful upper body movements representing feminine energy with powerful lower body movements representing masculine energy.
Originating in the temples of Utkal and inspired by Bharats storytelling history, Odissi invokes spiritual energy through Manglacharan, rejuvenates through rhythmic movements in Pallavi, creates an emotional experience in Abhinaya , and unites the audience with the divine through Moksha.Odgyan is a Virtual Reality application.
Odgyan stands for knowledge of the ancient dance form "Odissi".
We envision to spread awareness and knowledge of Odissi so as to take it to the masses.
The application demonstrates Odissi Single Hand Mudras, Double Hand Mudras, Feet and Body poses, where you can correctly perform them with guided instructions.
A 3D avatar will be present as a guide to show the mudras or poses.
It also makes you learn about jewelry and ornamentation of Odissi which is an integral part of Odissi.
There is Auto and Manual mode to switch upon the poses one by one automatically or manually.
Along with showing the mudras or poses, details of them would be shown in the form of text, and the same text would be played through audio as well.
